Flock management

Flock management man and sheeps

DeLaval offers modular sheep and goat flock management solutions that collect and analyse individual animal data 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can be built up gradually, with automatic cluster removal and/or electronic milk meters and upgraded later to electronic ID and herd management systems. Or a full DeLaval flock management system SG can be implemented, complete with sorting gate and feed wagons, and all controlled by ALPRO™ Windows® SG.

Features

Electronic milk metering with DeLaval milk meter MM25 SG displays and records individual information to be processed in ALPRO. It is extremely accurate, compact and reliable, ICAR approved for sheep and goats.

Automatic cluster removal (ACR) with DeLaval ACR enables faster milking and reduces total milking time. This reduces mastitis risk by avoiding over-milking, while doubling the number of clusters one milker can handle.

ALPRO™ Windows® SG 2.0 is a user friendly management program which accurately collects and evaluates data from every animal in the herd, 24/7. You can also control the information to create tailor-made reports. Having complete milking, feeding, breeding and veterinary information is a sound basis for making better management decisions.

There is a choice of standard or premium milking points:

DeLaval milk meter SG is ideal for a simple, efficient and consistent milking routine, with minimal need for manual input. Yet the system records and displays valuable information such as animal number, milk yield and attention messages at the milk meter display. It is used with DeLaval control box CBI.

DeLaval milking point controller MPC510 SG records and sends information directly to ALPRO herd management system. It provides real-time data on milk yields, animal numbers, milk flows, milking duration, stall position and more. All relevant attentions are indicated with various coloured LEDs to alert the operator immediately when action is required. It is used with DeLaval milking point controller MPC610 SG.

Electronic identification system. DeLaval portal ID SG reads boluses or eartags, while DeLaval hand held reader SG easily identifies animals in the barn or in the field.

DeLaval sorting gate SG will automatically divert selected animals that require special attention (such as insemination, dry-off or veterinary treatments) to a separation area. It is also possible to sort animals during milking, just by pressing the “sort once” button on MPC510 SG.

Feed systems such DeLaval feed wagons or feeding stations enable you to adjust feed rations to maximize milk production, while controlling labour costs and working hours.

Advantages

ALPRO™ Windows® SG keeps track of each animal. Automatic identification complements milk metering and is the key to an integrated flock management system.

The flock management solutions control labour costs and working hours, reducing daily labour demands in milking, feeding and herd management, while maximising milk production.
